About a month ago, I attended a Renegade Craft Fair popup in Seattle.
For those who don’t know, a Renegade Craft Fair is a marketplace featuring local artisans, food trucks, and other small businesses. The fair takes place in 12 different cities around the US.
I absolutely recommend going, I had an amazing time. While I didn’t do a ton of purchasing, (I bought an art print, a mini biome, 2 packs of seed bombs, and some Indonesian food) I collected a lot of business cards for future purchases. So now I know where to buy gifts that I’ll feel great about giving.
There were many passionate business owners. They all seemed to champion a cause. For example, I got a temporary Inkbox tattoo from a tattooer that donated all of her tips to help people being released from border camps.
I loved the transparency about how all the products were made, which was often by hand by the business owners. I could also tell that many of the businesses worked hard to be eco-friendly.
The Renegade Craft Fair felt like a true community of creatives and conscious consumers. I can’t wait to come back this winter.
Make sure to look out for a Renegade Craft Fair popup soon near you!
